Authors to speak at Jim Thorpe library

An afternoon with local authors will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Dimmick Memorial Library in Jim Thorpe.

Featured will be Jim Thorpe writers J.L. Davis, Michael E. Riley and Richard Nicholas Strack.

Davis is the author of six novels, including his Jackal series and his latest book, “The Rising.”

Riley is the author of “The Lone Last Out,” screenplayed for a major motion picture. His latest novel is “One Wish Away.”

Strack is author of “Upon a Field of Gold,” (screenplayed for a major motion picture), four plays produced by a community theater and award winning Times News features and columns.

The afternoon is geared toward emerging writers or anyone who would like to understand how a story becomes a book. Interactive writing exercises will be offered.

The event is free to the public. Authors will have their signed books for sale.

Home baked cookies and hot chocolate will be served.
