State police at Bethlehem

State police at Bethlehem report the following:

• A 44-year-old Whitehall man reported a theft from a motor vehicle incident that happened between 3:05 and 3:22 p.m. Feb. 9 on Route 873 in North Whitehall Township.

Police said a laptop bag was stolen from his unlocked Honda Civic, which was entered from the driver’s side rear door while it was parked in the parking lot of the Weis store. The stolen item is valued at $51, police said.

• A 57-year-old woman had $16,000 stolen from her in a theft by deception case that police were called to at 2:24 p.m. Feb. 8 on Elder Court in East Allen Township.

Police said someone impersonated Korean singer and actor Cha Eun Woo and scammed the woman of the money through the Bitcoin payment method using her identity and banking information.

• Police are investigating a theft by deception/identity theft incident that happened at 12:38 a.m. Dec. 20.

They said a 34-year-old Schnecksville woman reported someone used her personal information to apply for several lines of credit.

• Police said a 75-year-old Northampton woman is the victim of a theft by disposition of funds incident that happened between Dec. 8 and Jan. 11.

The woman, who lives on Oak Lane, Allen Township, reported Social Security benefits in the amount of $21,628 were diverted from her.

• Police were summoned to investigate two separate incidents in North Whitehall Township involving the theft of propane tanks.

The first incident happened between 11 p.m. Jan. 22 and 7:43 a.m. Jan. 23 from Dollar General in Schnecksville. Police said someone stole a 20-pound propane Blue Rhino cylinder valued at $420 from the exterior of the building.

The second incident was reported to police at 3:58 a.m. Feb. 1 at the Top Star on Route145 in Laurys Station.

Police said Blue Rhino propane cylinders were stolen. Each is valued at $953.88, police said.
