ON THIS DATE FEBRUARY 17, 1962

Robert J. Buckalew of Jim Thorpe, assistant supervisor of Carbon County’s special education program, was named chairman, and Corinne Plocinik of Lansford, county physical therapist, secretary of Carbon County’s Health Committee.

The committee formally organized yesterday with the election of officers at a meeting held in the Lehighton Elks Lodge.

Guest speaker at the session was Anthony Sinkosky, regional health educator of the Pennsylvania Department of Health’s Reading office, who stressed the importance of relieving the shortage of trained technical and professional personnel as it exits in hospitals, health agencies, federal state and local health departments, schools, universities, industry and research.
