A Northumberland County man faces drug charges after state police at Lehighton picked him up on an out-of-state warrant Friday.

Troopers found Mathew Creveling, 35, of Coal Township, trying to conceal hypodermic needles with syringes, suspected fentanyl and methamphetamine while being transported, court papers said.

He was charged and arraigned with intentional possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and tampering with evidence. District Judge Joseph Homanko, Weatherly, set bail at $20,000 and Creveling was jailed in the Carbon County prison.
