Walnutport Borough Council took the following action on Thursday:

• Agreed to have Kistler O’Brien Fire Protection replace 29 smoke detectors in the borough building at a cost of up to $5,000.

• Agreed to bid out the S. Canal Street storm sewer/wall project.

• Granted permission to the Lehigh River Sojourn, which asked for permission to camp at the canal on June 9.

• Granted conditional final approval to the Redline subdivision.

• Announced that an E-recycling events/shredding will be held on May 15.
