Bishop Francis J. Furey of Philadelphia pontificated at a Solemn Mass on Saturday, the feast of Our Lady of Lourdes, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Summit Hill, the church of his baptism.

The Rev. Francis J. Dutko, Nesquehoning, served as the assistant priest. Other participants were the Rev. Michael J. Lisowski, Summit Hill, deacon, the Rev. James F. Doolin, Jim Thorpe, subdeacon, the Rev. John J. Feeser, Nesquehoning, scripture bearer, Rev. George J. Fenzil, Lehighton, light bearer, and Rev. Francis P. Adolf, Jim Thorpe, thurifer. Rev. Agnello J. Angelini, New Columbus, delivered the sermon.

A testimonial luncheon was held in St. Joseph School hall honoring Bishop Furey after the Mass.
