A woman was killed Friday night in a crash in Cass Township, Schuylkill County.

State police at Frackville said a vehicle was traveling north on Route 901 near the intersection with Old Phoenix Road.

Police said the vehicle was going at a high rate of speed, going at a high rate of speed, attempting to overtake vehicles on the left.

A second vehicle was traveling south and was hit head-on by the first at 7:31 p.m.

The first vehicle went off the road and had damage to the driver side front bumper, hood and headlight assembly. The driver was able to get out of the car and had no injuries.

The second vehicle, had disabling damages and was leaking fluids. The driver, a 65-year-old woman, was killed. Two children who were passengers in the car were taken to the hospital.

State police continue to investigate the incident.
