Free family activities will be held at the Ross Township playground in the coming months.
“We are going to set a day during the week to have a fun couple of hours,” said Deb Brown, the township secretary/treasurer, during Monday’s supervisors meeting. “The office staff will go outside and do something with the kids. It will be during business hours.”
Brown and other staff will choose the days and what kind of playground activities they offer.
“We see a lot of the same faces playing there throughout the summer,” she said.
The grassy area and pavilion behind the playground will be the site of the Easter egg hunt on March 9. The event is open to the public and is from 10 a.m. to noon. The children will hunt by age group.
The summer “Concerts in the Park” will be held the last Sunday of each month. The dates are June 30, July 28 and Aug. 25, Brown said. No bands or times have been announced.

• Martha Rezeli announced the Ross Township Historical Society Museum will not be open this month while members refresh the exhibits and prepare for an upcoming event. On March 9 at 11 a.m., Thomas McCollough, assistant archivist at the Moravian Archives, will be the guest speaker. The event is free and open to the public. There will be light refreshments. Rezeli also asked for the supervisors’ assistance to fill out an application for grant money to make repairs to the annex building, where the museum is located. Supervisors said they will assist her, and the township will match whatever funds they receive from the grant.
