The newly-constructed Lehighton Area High School did not fare well from the recent rash of snow, ice and bitter cold.

During that spell, roof leakage occurred and a shower head burst. In all, 30 rooms in the new high school were affected.

Water damages occurred at all six buildings in the district from the weather.

James Hauser, director of buildings and maintenance for the district, said all rooms and facilities are still usable. Affected were the kitchen office, cafeteria, service area, faculty work room, auditorium, gym, custodian’s closet, a TV room closet and 22 classrooms.
