Luncheon

Pottsville Christian Women’s Club is hosting a “Loving Life” luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 13 at Grace Evangelical Free Church, Cressona. There is a fee. Speaker will be Dorris Ortman of Chambersburg and special music by Christine Schaeffer, Auburn.

Zion Lewistown

Pastor Jim Williams will officiate the 10:30 a.m. worship service this Sunday at Zion Church Lewistown Valley. Communion will be served at this service. Sunday school is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. The next episode of THE CHOSEN will be shown at 2 p.m. Sunday in the social hall.

Andreas VFW

Andreas VFW Post 5069 will meet on Wednesday, Feb. 14 at 7 p.m. at the West Penn Annex.

Calvary Lewistown

Pastor Kim will bring the message of Excitement in Christ along with Holy Communion at the 10:30 a.m. worship service at Calvary Evangelical Church, Lewistown Valley. Sunday school is scheduled for 9:15 a.m. and evening praise service at 6:30 p.m. Prayer gathering on Wednesday, Feb. 7 at 6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 11 is Souper Sunday. Please bring canned or boxed soup to be shared in the community.

Tamaqua Seniors

The Tamaqua Senior Citizens met on Jan. 25 with 24 members in attendance. The president opened the meeting with the reading “It’s Always You.” Pat Bednarik was added to the sick list. New member Gloria Lack was given a warm welcome. A reminder that membership dues need to be paid by next week.

The group meets at 1 p.m. every Thursday at the Coaldale Complex. Anyone 55 and older is invited to attend.

Art Show

The Tamaqua Arts Center is hosting a gallery show for St. Jerome’s eight grade students. They have been working with their teacher, Kathy Odorizzi and local Jim Thorpe artist, Victor Stabin.

The gallery show will be on display for the month of February beginning on Wednesday, Feb. 7, when there will be a meet and greet with the students from 6:30-8:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

Food Pantry

American Primitive Methodist Church working in partnership with the Salvation Army will distribute food twice a month, the second Wednesday of each month from 2 to 5 p.m. and the third Wednesday from 10 a.m. to noon and 4 to 5:30 p.m.
