The Palmerton boys and girls basketball teams both recorded wins on Wednesday.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Palmerton-So. Lehigh

Brayden Hosier and Matt Machalik were a two-man wrecking crew in leading Palmerton to a 77-63 Colonial League victory over Southern Lehigh.

Hosier rippled the chords for a game-high 35 points for the Bombers (11-8 overall; 11-4 CL), while Machalik added 24.

Brandon Clausnitzer led the Spartans (7-13; 6-9) with 19 points.

Sean Hallenbeck scored 17 points to spark Pleasant Valley in a convincing 50-27 victory over Bethlehem Catholic in Eastern Pennsylvania Conference action.

Hallenbeck’s effort was a game-high performance for the Bears (6-13 overall; 2-14 EPC). Joe Greene and Zach Prator chipped in with 11 and 10 points, respectively.

The Golden Hawks fell to 6-13 overall and 4-9 in the league.

Brady Leiner had 12 points for the Falcons (13-7, 10-5 CL).

Shane Marth paced the Tigers (12-7, 10-5) with 11 points.

Nine different players scored as Northwestern cruised to a 65-19 Colonial League victory over Salisbury.

Cara Thomas had a game-high 20 points for the Tigers (16-4 overall; 11-4 CL). Thomas netted 18 of her points before halftime, helping Northwestern build a 42-10 lead.

The Falcons fell to 3-15 overall and 1-14 in the league.

Palmerton pushed its winning streak to 10 games and remained unbeaten in Colonial League play with a commanding 59-26 win over visiting Southern Lehigh.

Hannah Barry had 15 of her game-high 22 points in the first half for the Bombers (18-1 overall; 14-0 CL). Courtney Connell netted all of her 10 points before half.

Tessa Seagraves had 15 points for the Spartans (4-16; 3-12) .

Northern Lehigh capped the Colonial League regular season by earning a 49-21 victory over Salisbury.

The Bulldogs opened with falls in three of the first four bouts to build a comfortable lead, as Chase Moffitt (172), Jack Tosh (215) and Sam Frame (285) all had pins.

Cody Mazzocca (121) and Andrew Rudolph (127) also had pins.

Remi Hunsinger topped the Wreckers with seven points.

Panther Valley defeated Weatherly, 29-19.

Jayden Honshiko and Carson Jones both scored eight points to lead the Panthers (8-4).
