Several people escaped injury Wednesday afternoon when involved in a crash in West Penn Township. The accident occurred just before 5 p.m. at the intersection of Routes 309 and 443 in South Tamaqua.

Two vehicles, a sport utility vehicle and a car collided in the intersection, with the SUV coming to rest on the lot of Romig’s garage and the car facing south along the northbound berm.

Members of the Penn Mahoning ambulance and Lehighton paramedics evaluated those involved.

West Penn firefighters helped cleanup debris and maintained traffic control at the scene.

West Penn Township police are investigating the incident.
