Monroe county incidents

State police at Stroudsburg report the following:

• A 39-year-old man from East Stroudsburg reported a theft/fraud/forgery incident that transpired at the ATT store, 3578 Route 611, Hamilton Township.

Police said it was determined the man went to the store in an attempt to upgrade a new cellphone and was advised his account was flagged by fraudulent activity.

They said the man eventually went to the AT & T store in Marshalls Creek, where he was able to successfully upgrade to an iPhone 14. However, the victim related when he went back to the store in Hamilton Township he was advised by personnel he was unable to upgrade his Apple Watch.

• Brian McCann, 44, of East Stroudsburg, was cited for cruelty to animals after police responded to an incident at 8:18 a.m. Dec. 31 at 1142 Red Fox Road, Smithfield Township.

Police said they received a report of a dog bleeding and investigated the case, determining McCann caused serious bodily injury to the dog. They said a warrant was obtained and successfully served on the arrestee.

• A 24-year-old Stroudsburg woman is facing a charge of harassment by physical contact after she assaulted her 55-year-old mother at 4:36 p.m. Jan. 19.

Police said they were called to a domestic dispute in progress at a property on Serfass Road, Hamilton Township, where it was determined the daughter ran at her mother holding a raised snow shovel and made contact with her.
