State police at Schuylkill Haven

State police at Schuylkill Haven reported on the following incidents:

• Camron Brown, 29, of Sinking Spring, is facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance after a traffic stop police made at 10:40 a.m. Jan. 1.

They stopped him in a 2021 Chevrolet Equinox at the intersection of Route 61 and Blue Mountain Road in Port Clinton.

• Stephen Smith, 28, of Schuylkill Haven, is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol after a crash at 1:41 a.m. Dec. 24 on Chestnut Street in North Manheim Township. Police said he was uninjured.

He was driving a 2006 Chevrolet that was involved in a crash with three others vehicles, two 2015 Chryslers and a 2018 Dodge. Police did not provide the details of the incident.

• Police charged a 38-year-old woman from Port Clinton for possession of a controlled substance.

The incident took place on Penn Street in Port Clinton and involved a 2010 Chevrolet, police said.

• Lucas Donton, 25, of Pottsville, was charged with aggravated assault after police were dispatched to Suedberg Road, Pine Grove Township at 6:17 p.m. Dec. 5.

• Police were called to a stolen cat report at 12:03 a.m. Jan. 3.

Police said a black and white Maine coon cat was stolen from Ruth Steinert Memorial SPCA, Pottsville. They said other indicators of criminal activity were observed at the scene.

• Police said they were summoned on Jan. 10 to investigate an animal cruelty incident.

They said three suspects were identified as Andrew Huber, Nathan Youst and Ayden Spantak.

Charges of animal cruelty and theft were filed against them, police said.

• James Caffas, 55, of Lykens, was charged with “firearm sale or transfer” following an incident at 1:49 p.m. Dec. 8.

Police said he attempted to purchase a firearm and was denied authorization to do so through the Pennsylvania Instant Check System, resulting in the charges filed in District Court 21-3-03.

• Police said multiple items of drugs and drug-related paraphernalia were seized in a traffic stop they made at 12:38 a.m. Jan. 10.

They stopped the vehicle in the area of Summer Valley Road, West Brunswick Township. The contraband was seized upon a consent search of the vehicle.

Police said the operator of the vehicle is also facing charges of driving under the influence.

• An 18-year-old man from New Ringgold is facing drug-related charges after police responded to the Blue Mountain High School, North Manheim Township, on Jan. 11 for a report of students smoking marijuana in a restroom at the school.

Police said the students were identified and the one who was determined to be an adult was charged with corruption of minors, possession of a controlled substance and related offenses.

• Police said a 2022 Subaru Legacy was vandalized in a criminal mischief incident reported to them at 7:31 p.m. Dec. 19.

It happened on East Main Street in North Manheim Township. The victim is a 19-year-old woman from Schuylkill Haven.
