State police at Fern Ridge report on crashes

State police at the Fern Ridge barracks reported the following:

• Ronald B. Dudak, 49, of Brodheadsville, was injured in a one-vehicle crash at 10:22 p.m. Jan. 19 on Hillcrest Drive in Chestnuthill Township.

Police said he was treated by personnel from the St. Luke’s Emergency and Transport Services.

They said he was driving a 2009 Subaru Legacy northbound when it lost traction due to snow on the roadway. The vehicle left the roadway and struck a utility pole. The car had disabling damages and was towed from the scene.

Police said Dudak was cited for the crash.

• Damages were minor in a two-vehicle incident at 9:53 a.m. Jan. 16 on Route 115 in Chestnuthill Township.

Police said a 2013 Honda CRV went out of control, began to slide, and was struck by a 2019 Kia Sportage. Police did not identify the drivers of the vehicles.

Both vehicles were able to be driven from the scene, police said.

• One person was hurt in a crash at 11:16 a.m. Jan. 16 on Bartonsville Woods Road in Jackson Township.

Police said Ivonne Barrera Torres, 38, of North Plainfield, New Jersey, had minor leg injuries and was transported by personnel from the St. Luke’s Emergency Services to the St. Luke’s Hospital, Stroudsburg.

She was a passenger in a vehicle operated by Gerardo C. Talavera, 34, also of North Plainfield.

Police said he was driving a 2009 Cadillac eastbound when it left the roadway and struck a tree head-on. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

Police said Talavera was cited for the crash.

• Katrina J. Alvarado, 28, of Albrightsville, was cited after a two-vehicle crash at 4:28 p.m. Jan. 9 at the intersection of Route 115 and Aldean Drive in Chestnuthill Township.

Police said she and the other driver, Brandon A. Wise, 27, of Kunkletown, who was operating a 2022 Nissan Murano, were uninjured.

Police did not provide the details of the incident but said both drivers refused medical transports by personnel from the West End Ambulance.

• Rasim Ljaljic, 69, of Brodheadsville, was cited for driving after a one-vehicle crash at 11:44 a.m. Jan. 14 on Frantz Road in Chestnuthill Township.

Police said he was injured, but the severity of his injuries is unknown. He was treated by personnel from, the West End Ambulance.

Police said he was driving a 2023 Honda Ridgeline that collided with a Pennsylvania Power and Light Company utility pole, a guide wire and a fence.

The vehicle was towed from the scene.
