Monroe County commissioners
The Monroe County commissioners approved the following items during their regular meeting:
• Sheriff’s Office overtime report for the period ending Dec. 31, 2023: deputies, 21 hours; security, 22.50 hours;
• Vouchers payable: $958,865.78 for the week ending Jan. 5; and $1,213,332.03 for the week ending Jan. 12;
• Gross payroll: $1,337,878.71 for the week ending Dec. 31, 2023
• Healthcare benefits payments: Highmark Blue Cross/Blue Shield - $174,807.48 on Jan. 3, and $74,781.16 on Jan. 9; Geisinger - $77,271.27 on Jan. 3, and $97,393.33 on Jan. 8; Dental - $4,579.26 and $4,499.89 on Jan. 5;
• Monroe County Area Agency on Aging: the First Amendment of the Local Agency Grant Agreement for the Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program to reflect changes in program administration as required by Federal Regulations;
• Commissioners’ Office: acknowledgment of the receipt of the 2022 Water Quality Study from the Monroe County Planning Commission;
• Professional services agreements: Masington, Riegel and Goldberg, doing business as ARM Lawyers - Sheriff’s solicitor, $15,000; Patrick Best, Esquire - Controller’s Office solicitor, $6,350; Weitzmann, Weitzmann & Huffman LLC - county solicitor, $90,000; Jason Costanzo, Esquire - register and recorder, $11,000;
• Contract service provider agreements: Jacob Hill, Esquire and Eric J. Filer, Esquire, special public defenders; Deborah L. Huffman, Esquire, PFA plaintiff advocate;
• Quote from Matheson Transfer Co. for $2,720 to move furniture from the courthouse to the warehouse;
• An increase in the per hour cost of security services (Securitas) in the Administrative Center from $28.89 to $30.90;
• An Emergency Response annual contract with Rapid Response Inc. to provide on-call response to hazardous material spills at a rate subject to the level of service as outlined on the rate sheet;
• Youth Level of Service/Case Management Inventory 2.0 Test Usage Agreement with the Pennsylvania Juvenile Court Judges’ Commission to perform risk assessments on juvenile offenders at the rate of $3.00 per assessment;
• The Savin Maintenance and Service Agreement with the Pennsylvania District Attorneys Institute from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31 to continue to provide victim notification related to incarcerated individuals, and;
• County list of approved vendors: Domestic Relations - Enformion LLC; Aging - Carmen Mercado-Gonzalez; Pretrial Services - Christine M. Darrah; Emergency Management - Critical Systems LLC; and Monroe County Correctional Facility - Henry’s Generator.
