The Lehighton, Northwestern and Palmerton wrestling teams all posted victories on Wednesday night.

Northern Lehigh and Northwestern picked up wins in girls basketball action, while the Marian boys basketball team also secured a victory.

BOYS WRESTLING

Tamaqua-Lehighton

Lehighton stayed unbeaten in Schuylkill League action with a 42-30 victory over Tamaqua.

Carter Hontz (145) and Wyatt Scherer (215) both had pins for the Indians (8-3 overall, 3-0 SL), while Aidan Gruber (114) won by technical fall, Camryn Dimmitt (189) scored a major decision and Blake Muffley (133) won by decision.

Stephen Kieffer (152), Jacob Hehn (172), Evan Temarantz (107), Aiden Schlier (121) and Gabe Erbe (127) all had pins for the Blue Raiders (2-7).

Northwestern-Wilson

Northwestern scored a 33-27 victory against Wilson in Colonial League action.

Braydon Uricchio and Noah Griffith had back-to-back pins at 114 and 121 pounds, respectively, for the Tigers (3-8). Trent Croll won by a 15-13 decision over Wilson’s David M’Balla.

Luke Fugazzotto got a pin in 1:48 at 172 pounds.

Northern Lehigh cruised to a 74-47 win over Southern Lehigh in Colonial League play.

Katelynn Barthold led the Bulldogs with 19 points in the winning effort. Aubrey Pollard scored 17 points for Northern Lehigh (9-6) as the team extended its winning streak to six games.

Dekota Barthold was another double-digit scorer for the Bulldogs with 14 points.

Tessa Seagreaves had 22 points for the Spartans (4-9), while Piper Gluck added 10.

Northwestern kept itself in the hunt for a spot in the Colonial League playoffs with a key 53-35 victory over visiting Bangor.

The Tigers (13-2 overall) improved to 8-2 in the league, as Cara Thomas led all scorers with a game-high 20 points. She capped the night with nine points in the final quarter.

Olivia Reinhart added 16 points, while Emma Freeman scored nine.

Avery Nelson paced the Slaters (9-5; 6-4) with a team-high 19 points, while Julia Pinter added six.

James Rodino sparked the Colts (9-7 overall; 4-3 SL) with a 24-point performance, while James Rodino scored eight.

Trebor Moore led the way for the Scarlet Knights (6-9; 1-6) with a team-high 20 points, while Owen Sandi added eight.

Jack Keiter had the hot hand for North Schuylkill in a 74-66 Schuylkill League win over Tamaqua.

Keiter drained a game-high 31 points for the Spartans (10-5, 6-2 SL). Zane Zulkowski and Joey Flail added 18 and 10 points, respectively.

Connor Dillon and Luke Kane paced the Blue Raiders (8-8 overall; 3-5 SL) with 19 points apiece.

Cooper Ansbach added 15 points, while Noah Mateyak contributed a 13-point effort.

The Spartans (5-7) drilled 13 three-pointers in the contest, with four coming from Jack Savage, who had 14 points.

Connor Simms scored a game-high 22 points for the Bulldogs (2-13), who made eight three-pointers in the contest.

Kellen Bauer added 13 points and Coy Daubert put up 10, making it three double-digit scorers for the visitors.

Tamaqua-Blue Mountain

Blue Mountain swept Tamaqua in Schuylkill League action.

The Eagles swam to a 120-52 win on the boys’ side, while the hosts knocked off the Blue Raiders 119-64 in the girls’ meet.

Vincenzo Valentine posted a first-place finish in diving for the Blue Raiders, while Stephen Behun earned a first in the 100 freestyle event.

The Raiders won the 400 freestyle relay in the girls meet, which included Isabella Jones, Gabby Blasko, Savannah Wilson and Lexi Buchala.
