The Pocono Chamber recently sent a letter to U.S. Reps. Matt Cartwright and Susan Wild requesting their assistance in expediting the National Park Service permit process for the Route 611 closure in Delaware Water Gap.
Route 611, just south of Delaware Water Gap, was closed in December 2022.
The businesses that are still afloat are suffering to keep their doors open, the Chamber said in the letter.
It is the Chamber’s hope that Cartwright and Wild will take this letter into consideration and do anything in their position to help move the National Park Service move forward and work with the Pennsylvania Department of Transporation to reopen Route 611 as quickly as possible.
