Monroe County Commissioners

The Monroe County commissioners approved the following items last week:

• A proposal from Kudu Creative to do work on a fentanyl awareness campaign in Monroe County. The contract is for one year, ending on Dec. 31, 2024 with the payment amount to not exceed $263,467.

The company presented the launch of the fentanyl awareness campaign at the commissioners meeting. The campaign is a collaboration between Monroe, Carbon and Pike counties. More information about the campaign and the affects of fentanyl can be found on the website at www.wefightfentanyl.org.

In other business, the commissioners approved the following:

• Sheriff’s Office overtime report for the period ending Dec. 3: deputies, 27 hours; security, 100.75 hours; and clerks: 3.25 hours;

• Vouchers payable: a total of $6,527,011.20 for December;

• Gross payroll: $1,345,922.57 for period ending Dec. 3;

• Healthcare benefits payments for December: Highmark Blue Cross/Blue Shield - $283,712.31; dental claims - $21,151.75;

• Area Agency on Aging: reappoint Nora Goodwin, Dr. Kathleen L. Post and Joe Scocozza to the AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP Advisory Board for a term ending Dec. 31, 2026;

• Monroe County Children & Youth Services: Service agreement with City Mission-Living Stones Inc. for $240,000 from July 1 to June 30, 2024; and amendment to an existing agreement with BI Inc. to extend their contract through Dec. 7, 2024;

• The 2023-2024 Continuing County Adult Probation/Parole Grant in the amount of $78,258;

• Submission of the 2022-2023 State Food Purchase Program Revised Final Report in the amount of $281,489.72;

• Proposal from Mumford Bjorkman Associates Inc. in the amount of $4,000 to perform a detailed inspection of the 270,000 gallon water tower at the Correctional Facility;

• State Criminal Alien Assistance Program Grant Contract for $34,706;

• Additional Outlet form with GOVOLUTION to allow the Pre-Trial Services Department to accept credit card payments;

• Execute a Memorandum of Agreement with the Teamsters Local 773 (attorneys) allowing their work hours to increase to 40 hours per week effective Jan. 1, 2024;

• Additions to the County List of Approved Vendors: jury management - Smith & Warren, sheriff - High Threat Innovations, court administration - CSG-NAM LLC, commissioners - Kudu Creative LLC, aging - David Schnitzler;

• Monroe County Waste Management Authority: Reappoint John Ferro and Thomas Whitehead to the board of directors with new terms to expire Dec. 31, 2028, and;

• Computer Capital Purchases: $8,451.88 from Dec. 14 report.
