A Monroe County man has been charged with sexually assaulting a young girl.
According to the affidavit of probable cause filed against Jason Trujillo:
At 8:37 p.m. Nov. 26, a Chestnuthill Township man told state troopers he had concerns about relationship between his 15-year-old daughter and Trujillo, 23, of East Stroudsburg.
The man provided screenshots of text and Snapchat messages between his daughter and Trujillo.
The messages were suggestive of a sexual relationship and discussed issues with their ages.
When the girl confronts Trujillo about the age gap and her family not approving of the relationship, Trujillo says he “understands the legality of it all.”
Several other messages were sent between Trujillo and the girl.
At around 8:25 a.m. Dec. 8, Trujillo was interviewed by state police at the Fern Ridge barracks and he admitted to being in a relationship with the girl.
Trujillo faces charges of statutory sexual assault, unlawful contact with minor, and corruption of minors.
Trujillo is free in lieu of $20,000 unsecured bail, and scheduled to have a preliminary hearing Jan. 18 before District Judge Colleen Mancuso of Brodheadsville.
