La Posada event

Our Lady Queen of Peace Church is celebrating La Posada, an Advent event, tonight at 6 p.m. It will be a bilingual presentation followed by dinner, prizes and a piñata.

Eldred supervisors

Eldred Township Board of Supervisors will meet at 7 p.m.

The Eldred Township Proposed budget for 2024 will be on the agenda.

The township organizational meeting will be held at 7 p.m., Jan. 2.

Lions meeting

The Western Pocono Lions Club will meet at noon tomorrow at Cherry’s in Kresgeville.

Registration due

Registration and payment are due tomorrow for the Wildly Winter Day Camp being held by Monroe County Conservation District’s Kettle Creek Environmental Education Center from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Dec. 28, for ages 7 to 11.

WELL meeting

The West End Little League is slated to meet at 7:30 p.m., tomorrow at the Chestnuthill Township Park in Brodheadsville. This meeting is open to all.

Zion Lutheran is accepting reservations now for either a ham or turkey dinner with all the holiday trimmings for Dec. 25.

Drive-through pickup times will be assigned beginning with 1 p.m. Call the church office to make the reservation at 570-992-6988.

Registration due

Monroe County Conservation District’s Kettle Creek Environmental Education Center is offering a Winter Day Camp on from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Dec. 28.

The registration deadline is tomorrow. Payment is due at time of registration.

Wildly Wintertime Day Camp is a full day winter experience at Kettle Creek, for ages 7-11. There will be outdoor and indoor environmental activities that are fun and educational, led by experienced staff.

Winter solstice

Monroe County Conservation District’s Environmental Education Center-Winter Solstice All Level Adult Yoga Class will be held from 6 to 7 p.m., tomorrow, in the Gallery at Kettle Creek.

Preregistration is needed. There is a cost, payable on day of program in either cash or check.

Early dismissal

The Pleasant Valley School District is having an early dismissal Friday. The winter recess will continue through New Year’s Day.

Christmas Eve services

Cornerstone Community Church will have a Christmas Eve Candlelight Service at both the 10:30 a.m. and the 5 p.m. services.

Nursery & Toddler child care will be available at the 10:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. services.

There will be for ages Preschool to 4th grade during 10:30 a.m. worship and for Grade K- to 4th during the 5 p.m. worship.

Effort UMC will be combining its 8:30 and 11 a.m. services on Dec. 24 and holding one service at 10 a.m.

In the evening, services will be held at 4, 6 and 8 p.m.

McMichaels UMC is holding a regular service Sunday morning at 9: 30 a.m., the 4th Sunday of Advent, and a Christmas Eve service at 7 p.m. with Communion, candles and caroling.

Mt. Eaton Church, Saylorsburg, is having a Hymn Sing at 9 p.m. Sunday. The church can be reached at 570-992-7050.

Our Lady Queen of Peace Church will have a Communion Service at 8 a.m. and Mass at 4 p.m., Saturday; and Sunday Mass at 8 a.m., 11 a.m., a Spanish Mass at 1 p.m.; and 4, 8, 10 p.m., of which the 4 p.m. and 10 p.m. are being livestreamed to Facebook and YouTube, and 1 a.m. on Christmas Day, The Junior Choir will be present at the 4 p.m. service, and the Cont. choir and the Senior choir at the 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. Masses respectively.

Pleasant Valley Presbyterian, Brodheadsville, will have its Christmas Eve service at the regular 10 a.m. worship time. One can also choose the Candlelight service at 5 p.m.

Salem-St. Paul’s Lutheran, Kresgeville, will have Christmas Eve services with carols and Communion at 2:30 and 7:30 p.m. and on Christmas Day services will be at 8:30 and 10:30 with Christmas carols.

St. John’s Lutheran, Effort, has announced it is having a morning service for Christmas Eve at 9:30 a.m., on the 4th Sunday of Advent, Dec. 24.

A second Christmas Eve service, at 7 p.m. in the evening, also on Dec. 24, will be a candlelight service.

St. Matthew’s UCC, Kunkletown, will have services at 9 a.m. and 7 p.m., on Dec. 24.

Zion Lutheran, Brodheadsville, will hold two candlelight service on Christmas Eve. The first is at 3:30 p.m., the second at 7:30 p.m.

The services will also be broadcast on Zion’s Facebook page.

The Sons of the American Legion, Post 927, will hold its monthly meeting at 7 p.m., Tuesday.

Jewish Arbor Day

On Jan. 24, Temple Israel of the Poconos, Stroudsburg, will celebrate Jewish Arbor Day from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Each Tuesday, Temple Israel host a Mah Jongg Club meeting.

Spaghetti dinner

Salem-St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, located at 138 Trach Rd. in Kresgeville, is having a takeout spaghetti dinner on Feb. 17. Dinner includes spaghetti with meatballs, salad, garlic bread and dessert.
