The Joint Operating Committee of the Carbon Career Technical Institute, Jim Thorpe, held its reorganizational meeting Tuesday.

Renee DeMelfi was reappointed chairman, and Earl Paules was reappointed vice chairman.

The five participating school districts also chose representatives to the committee, and were recognized at the meeting.

Members were appointed to three-year terms, through December 2026:

• Heather Neff, Lehighton Area School District.

• Renee DeMelfi, Panther Valley School District.

Appointed as Alternate Representatives for a one-year term, through December 2024:

• Rich Flacco, Jim Thorpe Area School District.

• Sean Graves, Lehighton Area School District.

• Danielle Paules, Palmerton Area School District.

• Pat Leonzi, Panther Valley School District.

• April Walters, Weatherly Area School District.

Appointed to the Carbon Career & Technical Institute Authority for a five-year term, through December 2028:

• Alyson Krawchuk, Palmerton Area School District.

The meeting schedule for 2024 was also approved. The Joint Operating Committee will continue to meet the third Thursday of each month at 6 p.m., with an executive session held at 5 p.m. before the public meeting.

The meetings are held in the dining room at CCTI.

The Dec. 19, 2024 meeting will be the reorganizational meeting.
