Daniel Kimmel, director-in-charge of the Urban Renewal Project involving Water and Railroad streets in Coaldale, announced yesterday the demolition processes are now underway to raze 69 structures and clear the land.

The Miller & Brown Demolition Company of Center Square is the contractor on the project. Yesterday, its workers commenced on the demolition project by razing the houses on the north side of the 200 block of East Water Street, between First and Second streets.

The debris from the project is being transported to a mine stripping void which will be licensed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
