Schuylkill man has over $100K in drugs

A 44-year-old Pottsville man faces several drug charges in Schuylkill County, according to authorities.

State police from the Reading and Bethlehem barracks, assisted by the Schuylkill County District Attorney’s Drug Task Force, Pottsville City police and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, conducted a joint investigation that resulted in the arrest of Dylan J. Ciappa, of 922 W. Race St. on Dec. 14.

Ciappa is charged with violations of the Controlled Substance, Drug Device and Cosmetic Act after the raid at 7:14 p.m. at the residence.

Seized during the search were cash in excess of $55,000; approximately 454 grams of suspected marijuana with an estimated street value of $2,500; in excess of 5 pounds of methamphetamines with an estimated street value in excess of $113,000; a quantity of cocaine; and a large quantity of psilocybin mushrooms.

Ciappa is charged with three counts of possession of controlled substances with intent to deliver; four counts of possession of a controlled substance; possession of drug paraphernalia and dealing in proceeds of unlawful activities.
