The Lehighton Education and Athletic Foundation (LEAF) held its 2023 Graduates of Distinction Banquet recently at the Lehighton American Legion Post 314.

These graduates are individuals who LEAF has recognized for their accomplishments at Lehighton Area High School, their significant contributions to society and their achievement of notable success in their chosen profession.

The Graduates of Distinction for 2023 are:

• Dr. Darryl Ahner, Class of 1986

• Lt Col (Ret) George Brennan, Class of 1957

• Jean Buskirk, Class of 1989

• Dr. Megan Barry Schroeder, Class of 2002

• Col. (Ret) Kenneth Snyder, Class of 1937

LEAF president Tim Tkach welcomed the honorees and those in attendance. He praised the 2023 Graduates of Distinction for their impact in their chosen careers and the lasting impressions they left with so many students and co-workers. All of the honorees served as mentors and role models during their time at Lehighton High School and their journey through their chosen professions.

LEAF is a registered, independent nonprofit organization dedicated to providing support for students and programs while promoting creativity, innovation, and excellence in the Lehighton Area School District. LEAF has been privately established to cooperate with the Lehighton Area School District in supporting educational programs and extra-curricular activities that are outside of the school district’s operational budget.
