Seniors lunches

The Brodheadsville Senior Center is open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesdays and Fridays. It is hosted by Zion Lutheran Church, Brodheadsville.

Luncheon choices must be reported to the Senior Center manager, Donna Riedel, by 10 a.m. the day before at 570-242-6770.

Those choices for Friday are egg scramble (hot) or tuna salad (cold) and for next Wednesday, Asian beef (hot) or ham and Swiss (cold).

There is a suggested donation per meal.

Goods donations

All senior centers in Monroe County are accepting donations as follows: crafting materials; art supplies and frames; felt or quilting material; clothes pins and golf tees; garden supplies; yarn, ribbon, beads, buttons; glue guns and sticks; knitting looms, needles, crochet hooks; scissors; hygiene products; construction paper and clear contact; straws, popsicle sticks; Mason jars; tie-dye supplies; new tube socks; poly-fil stuffing; acrylic paints, brushes and blank canvas; carbon paper; cricut and vinyl supplies; jigsaw puzzles; adult coloring books.

The West End Center is at Zion Lutheran Church, Brodheadsville, and it is open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesdays and Fridays.

Donna Riedel is the manager.

Rep. Rader’s note

Is the state holding your unclaimed money asks Rep. Jack Rader of his local constituents including West Enders.

He explains that more than $273 million in unclaimed property was returned to Pennsylvania in the 2022-23 fiscal year.
