Lehighton residents should soon have a better handle on how their municipal tax dollars will be spent next year.

Borough council will hold a special meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday to adopt the 2024 preliminary budget.

The meeting is for budget and general purposes.

Final budget adoption is likely to occur next month.

Residents didn’t have to pay more on their municipal taxes this year after borough council at a special meeting in December adopted the 2023 budget with no tax increase.

That left the millage rate at 10 mills.
