The Nesquehoning Veterans Banner program is now open for 2024.

If you would like to purchase a banner, applications are available at the VFW Post Home at 300 E. Center St.

Also if you purchased a banner to be displayed in 2021, 22 and 23 renewal applications were mailed to the sponsor of the banner and the retired banner may be picked up at the post home.

The deadline to purchase a new banner or renewal is Jan. 12, 2024.

Senior Center

The menu at the Panther Valley Senior Center for the week of Nov. 27 to Dec. 1 is:

Monday: Salisbury steak, Noodles, Peas and Carrots, Orange or Turkey Cheese Sandwich

Tuesday: Italian Sausage, Pasta, Broccoli and Cauliflower, Cookie or Chicken Sandwich

Wednesday: BBQ Chicken, Sweet Potatoes, Brussels sprouts, Cornbread, Pudding or BBQ Chicken Salad

Thursday: Lentil Soup, Salmon Croquette, Brown Rice, Green Beans, Peaches or Turkey Sandwich

Friday: Pork and Sauerkraut, Mashed Potatoes, Peas, Applesauce

The center also has announced upcoming events.

Crafts on Nov. 27 at 10 a.m.; Bingo on Nov. 28 at 10:45 a.m.; Po-Keeno on Nov. 29 at 11 a.m.; Movie and Popcorn on Nov. 30 at 10 a.m.; Christmas tree Trimming Dec. 1 at 10 a.m.

New members are welcome.
