West Penn Township supervisors took the following action Monday morning:

• Agreed to have the township donate $1,000 to Zion Stone Park which recently put a water system in.

• Hired Dane O’Brien as a part-time police officer at the rate of $21 an hour.

• Approved a request for police Chief Jim Bonner and his officers to attend a mandatory course for control tactics on Nov. 28.

• Announced that the township municipal building will be closed for Thanksgiving from Thursday through Monday. Recycling will be closed Thursday and Friday.
