Joseph M. Matz has been named general manager of the Split Rock Lodge, the year-round resort hotel and vacation center on Lake Harmony in the Poconos.

Matz comes to Split Rock with an extensive background of experience in the hotel field, to which his entire career has been devoted.

He served as manager of the Sylvania and Adelphia hotels in Philadelphia, and was manager of the first Holiday Inn to open in the Quaker City.

He served as president of the Philadelphia Hotel Association for two years and as international president of the Hotel and Motel Association Greeters.
