One hundred-eighty quarts of soup were sold as part of the Tamaqua Community Hunger Campaign.
Proceeds from the sale and monthlong campaign benefit Tamaqua’s food pantries at American Primitive Methodist Church, Trinity United Church of Christ, Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church and Stokes Ministries.
Restaurant gift certificate winners were Terri Livingston, Karley Lawson, Ray Kinder, Elaine Jones, Jennifer Mateyak, Judy Katula and Anna Ziegler.
Soups for the sale were provided by Stokes Ministries, Trinity United Church of Christ, Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church, St. John XXIII Roman Catholic Church, American Primitive Methodist Church, St. John United Church of Christ, The Station Restaurant and the Tamaqua Business and Professional Women’s Club.
The Tamaqua Hunger Campaign ended with the 12th annual Tamaqua Hunger Walk on Sunday.
The campaign is a project of the Tamaqua Area Faith Fellowship Network, an organization of lay people from the community’s congregations.
