Voters in West Penn Township elected Republican James E. Akins as their new supervisor.

According to unofficial results from the Schuylkill County Election Bureau, Akins received 910 votes during Tuesday’s general election. His opponent, Democrat Dean E. Deem received 388 votes.

The seat is for six years. Supervisor Timothy Houser did not seek reelection.
