The Nesquehoning Veterans Banner program is now open for 2024.

If you would like to purchase a banner, applications are available at the VFW Post Home at 300 E. Center St.

Also if you purchased a banner to be displayed in 2021, 22, and 23 renewal applications were mailed to the sponsor of the banner and the retired banner may be picked up at the post home on or after Nov. 20.

The deadline to purchase a new banner or renewal is Jan. 12, 2024.

Senior Center

The menu at the Panther Valley Senior Center for the week of Nov. 6-10 is:

Monday: Pesto Chicken, Buttered Pasta, Vegetable Blend, Jell-O, or Turkey Cheese Sandwich

Tuesday: Sloppy Joe, Potato Wedges, Spinach Salad, Orange or Chicken Cheese Sandwich,

Wednesday: Sweet and Sour Chicken, Stir Fry Vegetables, Tropical Fruit or BBQ Chicken Salad

Thursday: Stuffed Peppers, Mashed Potatoes, Mixed Vegetables, Yogurt or Turkey and Cheese Sandwich

Friday: Center Closed

The center also has announced upcoming events.

Sweating to the Oldies on Nov. 6 at 11 a.m.; Bingo on Nov. 7 at 10:45 a.m.; Po-Keeno on Nov. 8 at 11 a.m.; Speaker Mindy Graver on “Gambling Away the Golden Years” on Nov. 9 at 11 a.m.; Center Closed on Nov. 10.

Sunshine Meeting on Nov. 13 at 10 a.m. followed by Scattergories at 11 a.m.; Birthday Bingo on Nov. 14 at 10:45 a.m.; Drumming Exercise on Nov. 15 at 11 a.m.; Po-Keeno on Nov. 16 at 11 a.m.; Now You Have It Now You Don’t on Nov. 17 at 11 a.m.
