Post meeting

American Legion Post 927 will meet at 6:30 p.m. tomorrow at the Legion Post home in Gilbert.

The Pleasant Valley School District Board of Education will meet at 7 p.m. tomorrow.

Pie crust pick-up

For those who ordered pie crusts from Zion Lutheran Church, pick-up times are Thursday, from 1 to 4 p.m. and Sunday, from 9 to 11 a.m.

Meet the artist

The work of Andrea Henley will be on display in the Gallery at Kettle Creek Nov. 1 through Nov. 30. Residents can meet the artist Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Annual bazaar

The Laymen’s Fellowship of St. Matthew’s UCC, Kunkletown, is holding its annual bazaar from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. It will include raffle prizes, a bake sale and a soup sale.

Dine in will be available.

Various soups will be available, including Broccoli Normandy, chicken and rice, ham and bean, vegetable beef.

Pie and cake can be had by the slice, and soup will also be sold by the quart.

The church is also taking orders for turkey filling until Nov.12. The pick -up date is Nov. 21. And pints of gravy are expected to be available also.

Pork & Kraut

Effort UMC will hold its annual all-you-can-eat pork & sauerkraut dinner (while supplies last) from 4 to 6:30 p.m., Saturday. The meal will include roast pork loin, mashed potatoes, vegetable, applesauce, roll, homemade desserts, coffee, tea and other beverages.

The dinner is free for children 2 and under. The church is handicapped accessible.

T’day orders due

Filling, apple dumplings, and celery-seed orders are due for the Salem-St. Paul’s Lutheran Church’s fundraiser by Sunday. Call 570-801-7509.

All Saints Day

Our Lady Queen of Peace Church will hold its last Mass Vigil at 7 p.m. today.

Salem-St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Kresgeville will celebrate All Saints Day on Sunday at 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. with Holy Communion, remembering all those who were baptized and those who died this year.

In addition, there may be floral tributes - white carnations - for those who are being remembered.

Malawi Mission

From Pleasant Valley Presbyterian comes word that Pastor Chuck’s next journey will be taking him on a Mission trip to Malawi this month for most of the year.

For anyone who would like to follow his work check out: montsmalawimission.org.

There is also a Facebook group one can join: Monts’ Malawi Mission.

It is hoped to have Pastor Chuck back at the church at the end of the year or in the beginning of next year to preach on a Sunday and talk to parishioners and guests about his mission work.

Communion service

Middlecreek Christina Church holds its Communion/Benevolence Sunday every first Sunday of the month.

The Communion is an Open Communion, which means everyone can commune even if not a member at Middlecreek or if not baptized.

The service goes from 10:30 to noon.

Stomp out Hunger

A 5K-run and a fun walk for stomping out hunger is set for Sunday at noon at 39 Blue Ridge Rd. in Saylorsburg.

Harvest Fest set

Light in the Night, an autumn community celebration, a late afternoon of fun, entertainment and information for the family, will be happening at St. Peter’s United Methodist Church this Sunday.

It is a Christian themed Harvest Fest set for 3 to 6 p.m.

Community organizations will be represented with displays and information. Various local services, from an ambulance to a firetruck, to Safe Kids fingerprinting by police, will be there.

Trunk/Treat displays are planned, as are craft tables for children. Music, food trucks, pony rides are all in place waiting for folks’ arrival. There are no admission charges.

The church invitation is: come and enjoy to get to know the folks of St. Peter’s UMC. The church is located at 924 Rt. 115, Saylorsburg, next to Dollar General.

Ross meeting

The Ross Township Supervisors’ meeting is set for 6 p.m., Monday.

Bingo night

The Legion is hosting another public bingo at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Legion Post home in Gilbert.

Prayer shawl

Effort UMC’s Prayer Shawl group will meet at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.

WEHA meeting

The West End Home Association is holding its monthly meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at its home site in Gilbert.
