St. John’s

St. John’s Lutheran Church of Mahoning, 826 Mahoning Dr. W., Lehighton will hold a worship service at 10:45 a.m. on Sunday, All Saint’s Sunday with Holy Communion, in Fellowship Hall.

Grief Support will be held from 6-8 p.m. Monday. The topic will be Surviving the Holidays.

A spaghetti dinner will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Nov. 7 at Dinkey Memorial Church, hosted by St. John’s and Dinkey Church.

A fundraising meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 8.

Sunday school will take place at 9:45 a.m. on Nov. 12.

Wreath making will be held at Yenser’s Tree Farm at 1 p.m. on Nov. 12.

A council meeting is planned for 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 13.

Trinity Happenings

First Saturday worship with Holy Communion at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., Lehighton, begins at 4 p.m. Sunday worship with Holy Communion begins at 9:30 a.m. Communion is served by continuous line with wafer placed in your open hand, and wine or grape juice in a small cup. Gluten free wafers are available to those with allergy issues.

Included during these worship times are remembering and giving thanks with prayer for the members of Trinity who have died in the last year and are now in the Lord’s eternal care.

Rev. Nancy Moore presides. Coffeehouse fellowship follows.

Sunday Church School classes for students age 3 through grade 6 and confirmation preparatory instruction classes for students grades 7 and 8 begin at 10:45 a.m.

The Food Pantry is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays (and third Tuesday from 5:30 to 7 p.m.) with an outdoor drive-up setting. Residents who reside in the Lehighton Area School District are eligible to receive supplemental food.

The Trinity Thrift Store hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesdays; 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursdays and Saturdays. Donation drop-offs are accepted during store hours on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, limited to five bags or boxes.

Women of the ELCA meets in Luther Hall Nov. 9 at 7 p.m. Brenda Benner will share her experience as delegate at the recent Triennial Convention and Gathering, “Just Love” theme, Phoenix, Arizona. All are welcome to attend.

BECC

Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church, 222 North St., Lehighton, will hold Morning Worship at 10:45 a.m. Sunday. Sunday school will be held at 9:30 a.m. and Junior Church for ages 6-12 resumes.

Pastor Greg will be leading a six-week Bible study on “developing a biblical worldview” beginning at 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 5 in Fellowship Hall. Everyone is welcome.

• Mondays: Ladies’ Bible Study, 7 p.m.

• Tuesdays: Prayer meeting, 7 p.m.; Girl Scouts at 6:30 p.m. in Fellowship Hall.

• Wednesday: Boy Scouts at 6:30 p.m. in Fellowship Hall.

• Thursdays: Men’s Bible Study, 5 a.m. at BECC

• Operation Christmas Child boxes are available and to be returned Nov. 12.

• Nov. 15: The church will hold a fundraiser for Jaxon Grant-Latsch at Sapore Italian Restaurant from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
