This was the 52nd annual parade. Harris said she was pleased with the turnout of spectators and participants.

She said she knew from the beginning of the parade, when the weather cleared up and there was a rainbow, that things were going to go well.

“We feel that was a sign from all the original parade organizers and longtime committee members that were all looking down on us on Saturday,” she said. “Especially my parents, Judy and Charlie Harris, and Hilbert (Hilly) Haas, letting us know that we’re doing a good job, keeping the parade alive.”

Erin (Secty) and Ally McGinley, daughters of Julie Harris, are third generation Halloween parade committee members.

“I want to thank everybody that participated in the parade and those that came out to watch,” Harris said. “As I always say, if it wasn’t for that, there would be no parade.”

She said the parade is made possible through financial donations.

Donating to this year’s parade were Fay (Volkert) Thomas, Dance With Kim, TPEI Technical Process & Engineering Inc., Beaver Run Rod & Gun Club, Yenser’s Family Farm LLC; Wentz Auto Body, Ovsak Funeral Home, Lehigh Fire Company No. 1 Inc., Jim Thorpe Neighborhood Bank, Carbon County Republican Committee, Tumble With Denise, Ott’s Concession, Sons of the American Legion Squadron 314 and the Borough of Lehighton.
