State police at Fern Ridge

State police at the Fern Ridge barracks have released several incident reports:

• A 2015 Jeep Wrangler was towed from a one-vehicle crash at 5:21 a.m. Sept. 26 off Camellia Road in Chestnuthill Township.

Police said the driver of the vehicle is unknown. They said they also did not know the direction the Jeep was traveling before it left the right side of the road and struck a ditch.

• Chad W. Marone, 49, of Kunkletown, was uninjured in a one-vehicle crash at 11:08 a.m. Oct. 9 on Route 524 in Penn Forest Township.

Police said he was driving a 2020 Subaru Impreza eastbound when a deer entered the roadway. Police said the Impreza struck the deer and continued to a ditch.

• Amandeep Singh, 31, of Fresno, California, was cited after a two-vehicle crash at 6:02 a.m. Sept. 27 on Interstate 80 in Kidder Township.

Police said he was driving a 2023 Freightliner that was involved in the crash with a 2009 Peterbilt driven by Jesus Rodriguez, 40, of Nesquehoning. The latter driver sustained suspected minor injuries and was transported by personnel from the St. Luke’s Emergency and Transport Services to the St. Luke’s Hospital after the incident. Singh was uninjured, police said.

• Three people had minor injuries in a one-vehicle crash at 7 p.m. Oct. 15 on Bartonsville Woods Road in Jackson Township.

They included Daniel P. Merkel III, 31, of Albrightsville, a 6-year-old boy, also from Albrightsville, and Kayla B. Merkel, 32, of East Stroudsburg. Police said none of the people required a medical transport. No other details on the incident were reported by police.

• Police said the driver of a 2013 Mitsubishi Lancer that crashed at 8:44 p.m. Oct. 5 on Stony Mountain Road in Penn Forest Township fled the scene.

They said the driver of the car lost control on a left curve in the road, struck a sign, ditch and large cement barrier, knocking it down as it struck a metal fence. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

• A 2006 Toyota RAV4 struck a deer at 8:12 a.m. Oct. 13 on Interstate 80 in Kidder Township. Police said the driver, Daniel Marchesani II, 44, of Blakeslee, was uninjured.

Police said he was eastbound in the area of mile marker 278 when the deer entered the roadway and was struck. The car sustained heavy front end damages and was towed from the scene, police said.

• Mark Patterson, 63, of Chestnuthill Township, was charged with terroristic threats after police responded to an incident at 1:01 p.m. Aug. 30 off Route 209 in Chestnuthill Township.

Police said a 54-year-old man from Bethlehem who told them Patterson threatened him. Police said Patterson was located at his residence, taken into custody and transporter to the Monroe County Correctional Facility, Snydersville, where he was processed and jailed.

• Two passengers in a vehicle that crashed at 8:04 p.m. Oct. 14 on Route 209 in Chestnuthill Township suffered injuries.

They are Bradley T. Hockenbrock, 34, of Collegeville, who police said sustained “possible injuries,” and Kerstin B. Goff, 42, of Mohrsville, who was transported by personnel from the West End Community Ambulance to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Pocono, East Stroudsburg. Police said the severity of his injuries is unknown.

They were occupants of a 2011 Infiniti driven by Scott N. Goff, 50, of Mohrsville. He was uninjured, as was a third passenger, Lauren Stephens-Sbarbaro, 35, of Chester Springs.

Police said the Infiniti collided with two dumpsters and an embankment and was towed from the scene.

• A 20-year-old Kunkletown woman is the victim of a theft by disposition of funds scheme that was reported to police at 9 a.m. Sept. 18, Police said the woman from Valley Road, Chestnuthill Township, told them she was contacted about a job opportunity through the internet and telephone. She disclosed biographical information and her checking account number. Police said once the people had the information, they utilized the victim’s checking account to deposit and withdraw $9,950.95.

• Police are investigating the theft of an all-steel Diamond snow plow worth $3,000. A 60-year-old Effort man reported it was stolen from a field on his property off Sugar Hollow Road in Chestnuthill Township between midnight Sept. 13 and 1:44 p.m. Oct. 13.

• A 21-year-old man from Gouldsboro was charged by police after an incident at 1:38 a.m. Sept. 29 at the Wawa store at the intersection of Route 940 and Buck Boulevard in Tobyhanna Township.

Police said after they made contact with the man at the business they determined him to be under the influence of narcotics and in possession of narcotics, packaging narcotic equipment and a prohibited weapon, taking the man into custody.

• A 67-year-old Effort woman reported a theft by deception incident that police were called to at 5:33 p.m. Oct. 12 at a property on Little Twig Road in Chestnuthill Township. Police said an unknown person used her personal information to open an account at the Fulton Bank. They said the woman did not sustain any financial loss.

• Police charged a 37-year-old Wilkes-Barre man with possession of a controlled substance (marijuana) after a traffic stop they conducted at 12:46 a.m. Sept. 24 at the intersection of Route 115 and Quigley Avenue in Tobyhanna Township.

They stopped him in a 2012 Chevrolet for Title 75 violations and found he had marijuana. Police said a second arrest was made in relation to the investigation.
