Lineup announced for Jim Thorpe’s Halloween parade
The 28th annual Jim Thorpe Halloween parade will step off at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
The parade will form at 1 p.m. at the Jim Thorpe High School parking lot and then travel onto Olympian Way before turning left onto Center Street. It will continue until Ninth Street, where it will again turn right.
The parade will then turn left onto North Street (Route 903) and continue on North until Fifth Street. It will then turn left onto Fifth and go to Center Street and turn right, following Center to Third Street.
At Third, the parade will disband.
Transportation for parade participants will then be provided on Third Street to take them back to Memorial Park for refreshments.
A detour will be set up beginning at 1:45 p.m. for people traveling through the town. It will detour from Fifth to 10th streets, passing Evergreen and St. Joseph cemeteries.
The parade is sponsored by the Jim Thorpe Lions Club.
This year’s Grand Marshals are Jim and Sandy Gallagher. The Gallaghers are longtime Lions who have been faithful to serving their community.

Division 2
Carbon County Sheriff Dan Zeigler; Jim Thorpe Little League Softball; Carbon County Fair Queen; Hawk Mountain Highlanders; Sam Lux for County Controller; Girl Scouts Troop 309; Lehighton Ambulance; Elect Mike Sofranko and Wayne Nothstein County Commissioners; Cub Pack 138; Carbon County Republican Party; Mason’s Cold Beer; and Jukebox Cruisers.
