Tamaqua man charged with illegal credit card use at store

A Tamaqua man is facing charges after he used a credit card that didn’t belong to him to make several purchases.

According to Tamaqua police, Steven R. Marsicano, 56, used the card to make $55.25 in purchases at a Tamaqua convenience store on Oct. 20.

Police said they were contacted by the victim, who said she was notified that her credit card had been used at the convenience store. Police said the store clerk asked the victim for the credit card information, and was able to access video footage of Marsciano making the transactions.

While police were at the store, Marsicano walked in, and the clerk identified him as the man who made the transactions. Marsicano handed the card back to the victim and said he found it in the parking lot. He then ran away, police said.

The clerk emailed the video of the transactions to police and the victim asked that police charge Marsicano.

He was charged with access device issued to another who did not authorize use, receiving stolen property and theft of property lost by mistake.
