St. John’s Lutheran Church of Mahoning, 826 Mahoning Dr. W., Lehighton will hold a worship service at 10:45 a.m. on Sunday in Fellowship Hall with Holy Communion.

All Saints Sunday will be held Nov. 5. During worship there will be a slideshow of photos of friends and family members who have passed. If you would like someone you love and miss to be part of this slideshow, please email their picture at crudelitsch@gmail.com no later than Oct. 30. You can also drop the picture off at the office.

Bus Trip: St. John’s & Dinkey Memorial churches are scheduling a bus trip for April 18, 2024 to the Daniel show at Sight and Sound. Ticket includes the bus, Sight and Sound tickets, meal at Bird & Hand Restaurant and tip for the bus driver. Please reserve your tickets with payment at your church office by Jan. 28. Ben Salem UCC

Ben Salem UCC, 1965 Church Hill Road, Lehighton will hold an 8 a.m. worship service with music group, Daybreak. The praise band that delivers God’s message through song. Coffee hour with snacks, beverages, and Christian fellowship between services.

A 10:15 a.m. traditional service includes the Senior Choir, Handbell Choir and a Children’s Choir. Sunday school classes at 9 a.m. from a Nursery Class to a Middle School/High School Class. Communion service will be the first Sunday of each month.

• A chicken and waffle dinner is planned for Oct. 21 from 3-6:30 p.m. There is a cost.

• Rummage sale, Oct. 21 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Box lot sale.

• Potato Filling Sale Orders are due Nov. 12. Pickup Nov. 18.

• Christmas candy orders are due Nov. 19. Pickup Dec. 9.

Trinity Happenings

Sunday worship with Holy Communion at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., Lehighton, begins at 9:30 a.m. Communion is served by continuous line with wafer placed in your open hand, and wine or grape juice in a small cup. Gluten free wafers are available to those with allergy issues. Wear something red to accompany the color of the day (Reformation Sunday). Rev. Nancy Moore presides. Coffeehouse fellowship follows.

Sunday Church School classes for students age 3 through grade 6 and confirmation preparatory instruction classes for students grades 7 and 8 begin at 10:45 a.m.

The Food Pantry is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays (and third Tuesday from 5:30 to 7 p.m.) with an outdoor drive-up setting. Residents who reside in the Lehighton Area School District are eligible to receive supplemental food.

The Trinity Thrift Store hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesdays; 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursdays and Saturdays. Donation drop-offs are accepted during store hours on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, limited to five bags or boxes.

For those desiring to schedule a baptism or seek membership at Trinity, please phone the church office. Baptism class instructions with Pastor Moore is the third Sunday at 1 p.m. New member class instruction with Pastor Moore meets the fourth Sunday at 1 p.m.

Looking ahead, the church will host a bus trip to Sight and Sound Theater Thursday, April 11, 2024, for “Daniel.” Call the church office to reserve your seat.

BECC

Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church, 222 North St., Lehighton, will hold Morning Worship at 10:45 a.m. Sunday. Sunday school will be held at 9:30 a.m.
