Northampton Community College is offering a training on “Verbal De-Escalation in Crisis Situations,” from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 13, in the Northeast Forensic Training Center at NCC’s Fowler Family Southside Center in Bethlehem.

This comprehensive course covers effective techniques for de-escalation of parties who are angry or in crisis as well as gives a basic education in recognizing and dealing with parties who have mental health conditions or substance use disorders.

This course has been approved for eight hours of continuing education for municipal police officers, EMS professionals, registered nurses and coroners who successfully complete the program.
