ON THIS DATE OCTOBER 7, 1961

The Davis-Lawton-Yurko-Breslin American Legion Post 316, Summit Hill, announced plans to form a new unit called the Sons of the American Legion Squadron in which all male descendants, adopted sons and stepsons of members of the post or of veterans who died in service or after honorable discharge from the service are eligible for membership in the group.

Commander Joseph DeRenzis announced the formation of the organization and appointed an executive committee to supervise the activities of the squadron.

Members of that committee are Michael E. Zielasko, chairman and squadron adviser, William Frantz, William Evans and Wesley Hiles.
