Pet blessings

Our Lady Queen of Peace church will hold a pet blessing at 10 a.m. Saturday outside by the statue of St. Francis.

Zion Lutheran is holding a yearly pet blessing at 1 p.m., Sunday, in front of the parish hall, inside if it rains. All animals and pets are welcome but must be appropriately caged or leashed.

Info fair at NCC

An Older Adult & caregiver Fair will be held at Northampton Community College in Tannersville from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Half-hour sessions on Older Adult & Caregiver begin at 10:30 a.m. and include: Meals on Wheels, MC Area Agency on Aging, Alzheimer’s Association and Elder Law.

Saturday benefit

The Pocono Old Tyme Farm Equipment Association will be holding a benefit tractor pull at the West End Fairgrounds on Saturday, beginning around 10 a.m.

This year all the proceeds from the benefit tractor pull will go to the Mark Boyle family. Mark was involved in an incident at his business property and was killed after a truck hit him. Mark would bring his tractors to pull at the West End Fair and the Carbon County Fair. There will be food to purchase and a basket raffle.

QV Harvest Fest

The 49th annual Harvest Festival will be held at Quiet Valley, Monroe County’s Living Historical Farm, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday and Sunday. The theme for this year is: A Country Fair.

It will include exhibits, events, foods and beverages. There will also be skill demonstrations, like spinning and weaving, apple butter making, candle dipping, contests, etc.

In addition, the one-room schoolhouse will host an interactive program, the Children’s Heritage area will have various activities and crafts, and the Everlastings area and God’s Half Acre will sell handmade items like jams. jellies, pickles and farm-fresh produce.

Flea market set

Effort UMC’s The Women’s Group has scheduled a flea market from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in its pavilion Saturday.

Lunch and bake sale items will be available.

Sportsmen’s Day

Kunkletown Rod & Gun Club is holding a Sportsmen’s Day Sunday, at 122 Gun Club Lane Saylorsburg. The public is welcome.

Doors open at 11 a.m.

Ticket will have 33 prizes, plus two door prizes, and include refreshments from 12:30 to 4 p.m. Raffles will be ongoing throughout the day.

Community supper

Our Lady Queen of Peace Church is holding a Community Sunday Supper at 3 p.m. this Sunday.

Orders due

Salem St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Kresgeville, is having a ham takeout dinner Oct. 14. Dinner includes ham, filling with gravy, carrots, applesauce, roll and choice of molasses or pineapple upside-down cake.

Orders must be placed by calling 570-688-5381 no later than Sunday. Pick up dinners between 4 and 5:30 p.m. at the church on Oct. 14.

Orders are also being taken for celery seed dressing.
