Nesquehoning

Historical Society

The Nesquehoning Historical Society will hold a bus trip to Lancaster on Oct. 21.

The bus leaves CVS parking lot at 8 a.m. Those attending are asked to be there no later than 7:45 a.m.

The day will include stops at Kitchen Kettle Village; the Rock Ford Plantation, a persevered 18th century home of Dr. Edward Hand; the Snyder Gallery; ending with a supper at the home of our Amish friends.

The bus is expected to be home by 8:30 p.m. Cost for the trip is $75.

Senior Center

The menu at the Panther Valley Senior Center for the week of Oct. 9-13 is:

Monday: Center closed

Tuesday: Sloppy Joe, Potato Wedges, Spinach Salad, Orange or Ham and Swiss Sandwich

Wednesday: Sweet ‘n Sour Chicken, Stir Fry Veggies, Fried Rice, Tropical Fruit or Chicken Caesar salad

Thursday: Stuffed Pepper, Mashed Potatoes, Mixed Vegetables, Yogurt or Cuban Pork Sandwich

Friday: Frittata, Sausage, Potatoes, Fruit Salad or Salad with Chicken

The center also has announced upcoming events.

Center closed Oct. 9; Bingo on Oct. 10 at 10:45 a.m.; Balloon Tennis on Oct. 11 at 11 a.m.; Sunshine Meeting on Oct. 12 at 10 a.m. followed by Po-Keeno at 11 a.m.; Crafts on Oct. 13 at 10 a.m.

Po-Keeno on Oct. 16 at 11 a.m.; Birthday Bingo on Oct. 17 at 10:45 a.m.; Cornhole on Oct. 18 at 11 a.m.; Game Day on Oct. 19 at 10:30 a.m.; Horseracing on Oct. 20 at 11 a.m.

New members are always welcome.
