October 4, 1957 - Bernie Semmel scores both of Lehighton’s touchdowns to help the Indians gain a 16-0 Lehigh Valley League victory over Slatington. Both scores come after forcing turnovers, one in the first quarter and the other in the third. A fumble recovery by Lou Castagnola starts a Lehighton nine-play scoring drive that ends with Semmel in the end zone. Bill Semmel falls on a loose ball at the Slaters’ 43-yard line in the second half and the Indians, who hold their opponent to just 124 yards of offense, take advantage by driving for a second score.
