State police at Bethlehem - crashes

State police at the Bethlehem barracks reported on recent crashes:

• A 17-year-old man from Slatington was cited after a crash at 2:10 p.m. Sept. 23 on Rextown Road in Washington Township. He was uninjured.

Police said he was driving a 2005 Volvo S80 northbound and was negotiating a left turn in the roadway while traveling too fast for conditions. Police said the passenger’s side of the Volvo struck a detached garage at a residence at 3251 Grant St. and came to rest on the front lawn of 8223 Rextown Road.

The car sustained disabling damages and had to be towed from the scene, police said. Police did not name him in the release.

• Christine A. Butz, 51, of Allentown, was cited after a crash at 2:58 p.m. Sept. 13 at the intersection of Airport Road and Avenue A in Bethlehem.

Police said she was driving a 2019 Toyota Rav4 that struck a 2007 Freightliner driven by Joseph G. Lelo, 61, of Walnutport.

No one was injured.

• Police said two vehicles had minor damages in an incident at 3:07 p.m. Sept. 20 on Best Station Road in Washington Township.

They said a 2021 Ford Transit and a 2015 Dodge Durango were traveling westbound and eastbound, respectively, when their mirrors struck each other.

• Deborah E. Trinkle, 72, of Coplay, was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 12:22 p.m. Sept. 15 at the intersection of Bellview and Cobbler roads in North Whitehall Township.

Police said she was transported by personnel from the Northampton Regional EMS to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.

She was driving a 1997 Chevrolet Blazer that failed to clear the intersection and struck a 2023 Toyota Tundra driven by Neil A. Schroder, 47, of Slatington. Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.

Police said Schroder sustained suspected minor injuries that did not require a medical transport.

Police said Trinkle was cited for the incident.

• Anita L. Yurko, 75, of Kempton, was cited after a crash at 7:49 a.m. Sept. 5 at the intersection of Long Court and Weiss Road in Heidelberg Township.

Police said she was driving a 2010 Lincoln that struck a 2006 Ford F350 driven by Christine M. Rittle, 51, of Germansville, in the intersection.

Neither driver, nor three passengers with Rittle, were injured.
