Business Administrator Jeffry P. Deutsch informed the Joint Operating Committee of Carbon Career & Technical Institute that no budget increase is being forecast for the 2024-2025 Operating Budget year for the five Carbon County school districts.

In other business:

• Christine Trovato, facilitator of Special Education at CCTI, shared CCTI’s current special population numbers: 105 students with IEPs or 504 Service Plans (79 IEPs; 26 504 plans), 6 with Medical Action plans, 1 Gifted IEP student, 3 English Language learners, no homeless students and 1 foster student.

• Accepted the letter of resignation received from Anna Leigh Conway, Science Teacher, dated Aug. 29.

• Approved Larissa Genetti as a long-term substitute science teacher, effective Sept. 22 for a period of 91 days.

Following the completion of the ninety-one day period, Genetti will return to her previously approved position of building substitute. Angela Sablich was named her teacher mentor.

• Appointed Amy Guth science teacher, effective Sept. 22. Maya Kowalcyk was named her teacher mentor.

• Maritza Reinbold was named teacher mentor for Donna McClain, Health Medical instructor.

• Appointed Libby Smith as CTE Instructional Aide (Digital Marketing and Graphic Design). Kevin Wagner was appointed her teacher mentor.

• Appointed Alexandria Ventrella as Culinary Arts instructional aide effective Sept. 22.

Acknowledged receipt of the Letter of Appointment of Alternate Representative to the Carbon Career & Technical Institute Joint Operating Committee from the Panther Valley School District for Pat Leonzi. Leonzi will be filling the unexpired term of Steven Foster.

• Halloween-themed dance for CCTI students and approved out-of-school guests will be held from 6-9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20 in the school cafeteria. There is an admission fee. Costumes are optional.
