Zion Lewistown

Pastor Jim Williams will officiate at the 10:30 a.m. worship service this Sunday at Zion Church Lewistown Valley. Sunday school is scheduled for 9:30 a.m.

The Zion Men will meet on Saturday at 8 a.m. in Memorial Hall.

Rush-Ryan Seniors

The Rush-Ryan-Delano senior citizens met on Sept. 12 with 35 members in attendance. The group welcomed new members Linda and Michael Mundy.

Members celebrating birthdays in September include: Kim Usalis, Robert Neifert, Ruthann Feane, Joyce Krell, Debbie Kerestes and Robert Hollenbach. Sherry and Fred Herb, and Cindy and Bill Godanis are celebrating anniversaries this month.

The group meets at 1 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at White Church, Barnesville. Anyone 55 and older is invited to attend.

Food Truck

The Grill Reaper food truck will be at St. John Evangelical Luther Church, 200 East Mauch Chunk Street, Tamaqua from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sept. 30. The truck will be on the Pine Street, side of the church rain or shine. Benefits St. John’s Lutheran Church.

Calvary Lewistown

Doug O’Connell, a lay speaker from First UM Church, Schuylkill Haven will bring the message at the 10:30 a.m. worship service this Sunday in Calvary Evangelical Church, Lewistown Valley. Sunday school is scheduled for 9:15 a.m. No evening service this week. Prayer and share at 7 p.m. Sept. 27.

Garden Club

The Lewistown Valley Garden Club will meet at 1 p.m. Sept. 26 at Zion Church Social Hall, Lewistown Valley. The program will be presented by Quiet Hill Lavender Farm. Arrangement to be judged is “Gathering the Crops.”

The August meeting was a tour of a member’s garden, which was enjoyed by all.

Tamaqua Seniors

The Tamaqua Senior Citizens met on Sept. 14 with 26 members in attendance. The President opened the meeting with the reading “One prayer At A Time.”

New member Karen Reed was welcomed. September birthdays celebrated by Ruthann Feane, Joyce Krell and Roberta Hollenbach. A moment of silence was observed for Joan Wall.

The annual Christmas Dinner will be held on Dec. 7 starting at noon at the Coaldale Complex. Catering by Hess of Schuylkill Haven.

The group meets at 1 p.m. every Thursday at the Coaldale Complex. Anyone 55 and older is invited to attend.
