State Police at Lehighton - DUI

State police at Lehighton released information on driving under the influence cases:

• A 20-year-old Quakertown man who was stopped in a DUI checkpoint was charged for just that at 12:03 a.m. Sept. 3.

Police said the checkpoint was set up at Route 115 and Henry Street in Ross Township when the man was driving a 2014 Subaru and police suspected him to be under the influence of a controlled substance.

• A 28-year-old man from Rockaway, New Jersey, is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance following a traffic stop.

Police said they stopped him in a 2017 Honda Accord for motor vehicle offenses at the intersection of Vaughn Acres Lane and Owl Creek Road in Towamensing Township.

• Police said a driver who was stopped for traffic violations at 2:56 a.m. Sept. 9 in Lower Towamensing Township is facing charges of driving under the influence.

The driver was behind a black Hyundai Sonata when he was halted at the intersection of Hemlock Street and Cherry Hill Road in the township.
