Spanish class

The invitation is: Come and learn Spanish with Us. The class will be held in Our Lady Queen of Peace Church’s cafe at 1 p.m., Thursdays.

WE Missions

The West End Missions dinner will take place at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church on Thursday, beginning at 4:30 p.m.

POW/MIA fete

The Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 678, will host a Vigil and Ceremony at 3 p.m. Friday in honor and recognition of National POW/MIA Recognition Day at Courthouse Square in Stroudsburg.

All are invited to attend.

Fusion festival

Middlecreek Christian Church’s annual Fusion Festival is this weekend. It includes musical performances, activities and games, a Friday movie night, and delicious food. It is a free event.

Men’s breakfast

Our Lady Queen of Peace Church hosts a Men’s breakfast the third Saturday of each month after the 8 a.m. service.

Group meetings

Effort UMC’s Men’s Group will meet at 9 a.m., Saturday, in the church kitchen.

The Seekers will meet Monday at 10 a.m., in Friendship Hall.

And Grief Share is set for 12:30 p.m., Monday, at 12:30 p.m.

Community Day

Ross Township is holding its Community Day Saturday in the park. It will include emergency apparatus, craft and retail vendors, entertainment and refreshments, and more.

The Ross Township Historical Society Museum is hosting an Open House on Ross Township Community Day, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. that day, and every second Saturday of each month thereafter at the same time.

There is no charge for admission and all are welcome to view photographs, artifacts and items specific to historical Ross Township. The museum located in the Municipal Hall Annex, 258 Anchorage Road, Saylorsburg. It will be open during those stated hours.

Look for the large “Open” flag, are the instructions. All are welcome.

Cubs Homecoming

The PV Cubs are having two events this weekend.

The first will be at the West End Fairgrounds on Saturday, from 2 to 6 p.m. The second, a Homecoming, will be Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and will take place at the Pleasant Valley High School Stadium in Brodheadsville in the form of football games.

Sponsors of the Cubs were invited to set up at the activities.

Purse Bingo

Our Lady Queen of Peace Church is hosting a Designer Purse bingo on Saturday, with proceeds helping send the youth to attend the National Catholic Youth Conference.

Doors open at noon. Games start at 1 p.m. sharp.

Tickets in advance are $5 less than at the door.

Food and refreshments will be available at the concession stand

The event offers Coach, Michael Kors, Kate Spade.

Sunday breakfast

Polk Fire Company has announced its first breakfast of the season, for this coming Sunday. It will be held from 7 to 11 a.m. and is served buffet sale.

And for a heads-up, there will be a take-out BBQ chicken dinner on Oct. 22.

Religious Ed. starts

Our Lady Queen of Peace Church religious education begins Sunday. Parents/guardians with their students are to meet in the main body of the church at 9 a.m. or immediately following the 8 a.m. Mass.

Celebrating family

Pleasant Valley Assembly of God Church will hold Family Reunion Sunday. There will be fellowship and fireworks. The church will provide the meat, but those attending are asked to bring a dish to share and to sign up at https://pvag.breezechms.com/form/cc8941

Senior luncheon

Our Lady Queen of Peace Church will hold a Senior luncheon at 1 p.m. Monday, after the 12:10 p.m. Mass.

Monday bingo

The American Legion in Gilbert has bingo every Monday evening open to the public. Card sales begin at 6:30 p.m.; play begins at 7 p.m.

Soup sale ends

Effort UMC’s soup sale, which includes 7 Bean and Ham & Chicken Corn Chowder, will end Sept. 20. The pickup date is Sept. 24, after each service.
